Day use, explained
A hotel by day, no overnight stay
Book a real hotel room for a few hours, in the morning, afternoon or the full day. Fast, flexible, up to 70% cheaper than a night.
What is day use?
A room, a few hours, in broad daylight
Day use means booking a real hotel room during the day, on a time slot (morning, afternoon or full day), without staying the night. You enjoy the comfort, quiet and services of the hotel, then leave in the evening.
To rest, work or reconnect
A quiet break between two meetings, a place to work instead of home, a getaway for two, a room near the station or airport during a layover: a hotel by day fits every need.
Flexibility, at the best price
No need to pay for a whole night for a few hours. Day use is booked online in three minutes, often up to 70% cheaper than the nightly rate, with clear cancellation terms.

Can I book a hotel for just a few hours?
Yes. Day use is exactly that: booking a room during the day on a time slot (a few hours, half a day or the full day), without staying overnight.
Do I have to pay for the whole night?
No. You only pay for the slot you book, often 30 to 70% less than a nightly rate.
What times are available?
It depends on the hotel and the offer: morning, afternoon, full day or even the evening, but not overnight (usually until 11 pm). Available slots are shown on each offer.
Is day use good for remote work?
Yes, it is a very common use: a quiet room, Wi-Fi and sometimes a real workspace, by the hour or the day.
What about a getaway for two?
Many hotels offer packages designed for a daytime moment as a couple (love room, spa, champagne depending on the hotel).
How does booking work?
Pick the city, date, hotel and slot, then confirm according to the booking type required by the hotel (instant, card guarantee, on request, deposit or full payment). Payment is then made online or at the hotel depending on the type, and confirmation arrives by email.
How do I pay?
Most often on site, at the hotel. Some offers require online payment (deposit: balance at the hotel; full payment: nothing to pay on site) or a simple card hold. As a reminder, a card hold is not a payment. The method is shown on the offer before you confirm. On site, payment follows the means the hotel accepts (cash or card).
What happens if I cancel?
You can cancel up to the last minute, free of charge and with no debit (for most offers). Important: always cancel from RoomForDay (your confirmation email or your account), never directly with the hotel.
What are the booking types?
Depending on the hotel: instant (confirmed right away), with a card guarantee (a simple card hold, nothing is charged), with a deposit (part paid online, the balance at the hotel), full online payment, or on request (the hotel confirms before validating). The type is shown on each offer before you pay. If a booking combines several products with different types, the most demanding one (in increasing order of demand: instant > card guarantee > deposit > full payment > on request) applies to the whole booking.
Why a card guarantee?
Some offers ask for a simple card hold to secure the booking. Nothing is charged when you book: the hold protects the hotel against an un-cancelled no-show, according to the terms shown. In case of a no-show (not showing up without cancelling on RoomForDay), the hotel can have the full room amount charged; a no-show may also restrict your account to a systematic card guarantee on future bookings.
What is an “on request” booking?
The hotel confirms availability first. You send your request, the hotel accepts or declines it. Confirmation then arrives by email. Do not go to the hotel without having received the confirmation.
How long until confirmation?
For an instant, card-guarantee, deposit or full-payment booking, it is immediate. For an on-request booking, the hotel usually replies within a few hours, and our system follows up with the hotel automatically if needed (it varies by property).
Is my card shared with the hotel?
No. Payments and card holds go through Stripe, securely: the card number is never shared in clear with the hotel. Your phone and email are not shared with the hotel either (they stay for RoomForDay use).
What happens when I arrive at the hotel?
Go to reception with your booking number (in the confirmation email) and an ID. You get a real room for your time slot. Any balance is paid on site. Whatever the booking mode, the hotel may ask for a card imprint as a guarantee for any extras (mini-bar, room service).
What about a romantic getaway for two?
Many hotels offer packages designed for a moment as a couple during the day (love room, spa, champagne… depending on the hotel).
What if the hotel cannot find my booking?
Keep your confirmation email with the booking number: it is recorded on the hotel side. Show it at reception, and if needed contact RoomForDay, we step in directly with the property.
